Magpie: “Or, perhaps, she just prefers reading the novels as the author intended, without all the British words and phrases Americanized.”

Kumi (glumly): “Damn, I didn’t think of that. *sighs* I just wish I could talk to her and get a better feel for what she wants with Simon.”

Wren: “She wants what we all want—him nekkid and sweaty in our bed. Reverse cowgirl! Yee-haw!”

All the girls, except Kumi: *zone out as they imagine that particular scenario*

Kumi: *lethal look* “Shut up and stop thinking about him naked!”

Magpie (chidingly): “Yes, Wren, that wasn’t very kind…even if it was undeniably true.”

Wren: “You’re right. I’m sorry, Kums. Why don’t you let me talk to her for you?”
